The factory turbine housing uses a 3.5\" V-band flange, which Evolution Racewerks duplicated and CNC machined from billet 304 stainless steel; the O2 sensor bungs are CNC machined stainless and the brackets are laser cut and TIG welded with stainless rod.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eExhaust restriction costs horsepower and torque on a turbocharged engine, and the factory catalytic converter is the largest restriction in the system. Its honeycomb catalyst forces exhaust gas through a fine weave and creates turbulence downstream that slows flow further. Replacing the factory catalyzed downpipes with the Competition Series catless units removes that restriction, improving throttle response and turbo spool.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe factory flex bellows section is retained rather than deleted.
