Evolution Racewerks Charge Pipe – BMW 535i (F10 / F12 / F13, N55)

OVERVIEW

The Evolution Racewerks Charge Pipe Kit replaces the factory soft plastic charge pipe on the 2011 and later 535i, 640i and F15/F16 X5 and X6 with the N55 single turbo engine. Turn the boost up with a tune and the stock plastic pipe is prone to breaking apart; this one is made entirely from high grade 6061 aluminum and is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Charged intake airflow characteristics have a direct effect on throttle response, turbo lag and maximum power potential, and smooth bends with minimal obstructions are what matter. Evolution Racewerks uses mandrel bent 6061 tubing for smooth transitions, and the upper pipe steps up to 3" to match the factory throttle body where the factory pipe is only 2.5", ensuring maximum flow without obstruction.

Evolution Racewerks was the first manufacturer to duplicate the factory throttle body flange on an N54 charge pipe and brings the same design to the N55 pipe. The factory pipe connects to the throttle body with an o-ring inside the flange locked in place by a c-clip, which seals well and makes removal and installation quick. In testing this connection was pressure tested to 25 PSI with no sign of the flange failing — testing stopped there only because a turbo intake pipe blew off. BMW uses the same style of connection in the coolant radiator and clutch systems.
