OVERVIEW
DDC is KW's electronically adjustable coilover. Instead of reaching under the car with a screwdriver, damping is changed on the move — from the factory drive-mode switch or from the KW app — while the coilover still gives you the height adjustment a mechanical kit does.
The reason these kits are plug-and-play is that they use the wiring your car already has. The DDC damper plugs into the OE electronic damper connectors, so the factory EDC hardware is a requirement, not an obstacle. Because the circuit stays intact and the car keeps talking to a real damper, no ESC or EDC cancellation module is needed, and OE drive-mode damper control keeps working.
This is the kit for someone who genuinely uses both ends of the range: a comfortable commute and a firm setting for a back road or a track day, without a compromise setting in between. If your car does not have factory EDC, a DDC kit is the wrong product — look at the Variant 3 or Variant 4 kits instead.

TECH RESOURCES
Additional Parts Required
- Factory EDC / electronic dampers are mandatory. There is no non-EDC version of this part number.
- KW WLAN module 68510276 is required if you want smartphone control of the damping rather than drive-mode switch control only. See our KW ESC Cancellation Modules & Coilover Setup Tools listing.
- No ESC / EDC cancellation module is needed — the DDC damper replaces the OE damper on the same circuit.
- A corner-balance and a full four-wheel alignment are required after installation. Budget for both before the car is driven.
Installation
- Installation instructions: PDF.
- In brief: full strut-out replacement front and rear, the OE damper connectors plugged straight into the DDC units, ride height set inside KW's published range, then corner-balance and alignment.
Notes
- Fitment is published by engine family rather than by model year; confirm your car's engine code before ordering.
- Do not confuse this part number (39020053, 4 Series Gran Coupe G26) with the closely numbered 39020054, which is the BMW i4 EV — not compatible.
- KW's own fitment chart lists the 430i xDrive Gran Coupe starting in model year 2023, not 2022 — corrected in the table below. The M440i xDrive Gran Coupe row (2022+) matched KW's chart as published. Confirmed directly against KW's fitment chart on 2026-09-02.
- KW publishes no product image for this part number.
- Price is for the item selected only; labor is not included.
