KW Variant 1 Coilovers – BMW 1 Series Convertible (E88)

OVERVIEW

KW Variant 1 is the sporty, balanced entry point into the KW coilover range. Damping is pre-set at the factory by KW's engineers, who develop every application through extensive driving tests to strike a balance between sporty handling, ride comfort and safety. The driver chooses the ride height; KW has already decided the damper tune.

On the E88 1 Series Convertible the kit replaces the factory struts and shocks with height-adjustable coilovers, so you can set the stance you want without giving up a validated, road-developed damper calibration.

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• Four-wheel alignment. A full alignment is mandatory after installation and after any subsequent ride-height change.
• Professional installation. Fitment should be carried out by a qualified suspension shop; the kit changes suspension geometry and load paths.
• Tire-to-strut and fender clearance check. Verify clearance through full steering lock and suspension travel before driving, especially with aftermarket wheels, tires or spacers.
• Headlight levelling / ride-height sensor. Cars fitted with self-levelling xenon headlights carry a ride-height sensor link on the axle; it must be checked and re-indexed after lowering.
• Spring compressor and standard suspension service tools are supplied by the installer.
