Active Autowerke B58N GESI Catted Downpipe – BMW X5 40i / X3 40i / X7 40i / 540i / 740i (2025+)

OVERVIEW

This Active Autowerke downpipe fits the 2025-and-newer non-M B58N (Gen-3) BMWs — the X5 40i, X3 40i / M50i, X7 40i, 540i and 740i. It runs a GESI high-flow catalyst in a 5 inch stainless steel body joined by a cast V-band and tapering to the OEM 80mm connection, and bolts in with no cutting or welding.

Rated for builds up to 1000 horsepower, with no check-engine light and no performance tune needed.

• 5" GESI G-Sport Ultra High Output catalytic converter, 400 cells per square inch — catted, no CEL
• 5" stainless steel, cast upper stainless V-band, stainless flex joint, tapering to 80mm OEM connection (never below the stock 80mm)
• 304 stainless steel, TIG-welded, 1.5mm wall; full 304 stainless converter including substrate, furnace-brazed to the mantle
• Withstands up to 1500°F; reaches operating efficiency within 9 seconds of start-up
• Rated for builds up to 1000 hp
• Bolts on — no cutting or welding required; no performance tune needed
• EPA registered and fully OBD2 compliant (1996 and newer) in 49 states — not legal in California
• Warranty: 5 yr / 50,000 mi on shell and tube ends; 2 yr / 25,000 mi on the catalytic core; original purchaser only; void with louder-than-stock burble

Installation

• Active Autowerke catalytic converter break-in instructions (PDF) — follow this procedure on first start-up to avoid a check engine light being set in error.
