Active Autowerke GESI Catted Downpipe – BMW 228i / 328i / 428i (N20, F3X)

OVERVIEW

BMW introduced a new valvetronic, single-turbo version of its direct-injection engine for the F-chassis models beginning in 2012, and the restrictive factory downpipe holds much of that potential back — slowing exhaust flow and, with it, turbo spool. The Active Autowerke F-chassis N20 Signature downpipe for the 228i, 328i and 428i uses 3.5 inch stainless steel piping designed to be as unrestrictive as possible, for more power, quicker spool and extreme durability. This variant carries a 4 inch ultra high flow GESi G-Sport Ultra High Output catalytic converter whose proprietary precious metal loading keeps emissions low while maintaining high flow, so power is maximised without check engine lights or failed emissions tests.

Notes

• Please note: These catalytic converters are not legal for use on vehicles registered in the state of California as a result of California Vehicle Code Sections 27156 and 38391.
• Note: Federal law prohibits the tampering of an emissions control device. Mobile Source Enforcement Memorandum 1A allows for aftermarket parts to be used in the repair or replacement of emissions control systems, provided the emissions aren't adversely affected. There is no mention or reference to cell density or converter volume dimension. The GESi catalytic converter will produce emissions that meet the standards set by the EPA, not CARB.
• Important: these cars were built with either the N20 or the N26 engine, and this downpipe will not fit an N26 engine. Active Autowerke asks that you supply your VIN so the correct engine can be verified. Fitment applies to US-model cars only. Confirm fitment with Speed Logic before ordering.
