Active Autowerke BMW M2C Gen 2 Equal Length Mid Pipe

OVERVIEW

Active Autowerke's Gen 2 Equal Length Mid Pipe corrects the uneven S55 exhaust note on the F87 M2 Competition and M2 CS. The twin-turbo S55's front and rear downpipes differ in length by almost a foot and a half, so their pulses arrive at the crossover section out of phase, producing the buzzy, uneven "weed eater" tone many owners complain about. Active Autowerke's patented sinusoidal crossover pipe equalizes those pipe lengths before the exhaust streams merge, restoring a smoother, more even inline-six note.

Gen 2 replaces the original Equal Length mid pipe with newly developed resonators that pull rasp and "2k buzz" out of the exhaust tone with minimal loss of volume. It is available with or without those resonators; Active Autowerke recommends the resonated version for cars running aftermarket (catless) downpipes, the MPE or Clubsport exhaust, or any non-Active rear exhaust, since fitment and tone are only verified with stock/Active downpipes and stock/Active rear exhausts.
