aFe Bladerunner Intercooler Upgrade (W/Charge Pipe) 46-20152-B, 2007-2010 BMW 335i (N54)

OVERVIEW

The aFe POWER BladeRunner intercooler represents the next generation of intercoolers for the N54 335i. Designed specifically for the 2007-2010 BMW 335i (E9X) with the L6-3.0L twin-turbo N54 engine, it uses a 5" bar-and-plate core that outflows the factory tube-and-fin design while 3/16" TIG-welded end tanks provide superior strength and durability. In aFe's testing the kit produced gains of up to +13 horsepower and +11 lbs. x ft. of torque and dropped intake air temperature by up to 12 degrees without any tuning.

The bar-and-plate core is roughly 10% larger than stock and allows greater airflow and heat dissipation. Billet aluminum 2-1/2" inlet and outlet connections incorporate the factory-style quick connect adaptor for the hot-side intercooler tube, and each end tank carries two 1/8" NPT ports for pressure sensors or water-methanol injection. The complete unit is 100% TIG-welded inside and out by certified craftsmen for the strongest welds and reduced stress cracking, and is pressure tested to 200 psi.

The kit ships with a 5-ply polyester reinforced silicone lower hose with metal inserts to withstand extreme boost pressure, plus the cold-side aluminum tube assembly. It uses the factory mounting locations, and absolutely no cutting or modification is required for installation.

Required Extras

• None. aFe Power supplies the cold-side intercooler tube, couplings, clamps and hardware in this kit; no additional parts are needed.
• Important compatibility note: this kit will not work with the factory cold-side intercooler tubing. It is designed to work with the aFe BladeRunner cold-side tube — see aFe N54 Charge Pipe 46-20159-B if you need a replacement or spare.
• Installer supplies: standard metric hand tools, coolant-safe rags, and a jack and jack stands or a lift.
