aFe Momentum GT Pro 5R Cold Air Intake – BMW M340i (G20, B58)

OVERVIEW

The aFe Power Momentum GT cold air intake is a complete, sealed induction system for the B58-powered BMW M340i, M440i and M240i. A one-piece housing molded from heat-resistant XLPE cross-linked polyethylene isolates the filter from engine heat, an aluminum heat-shield panel keeps hot air away from the housing, and a computer-designed, dyno-tuned XLPE intake tube completes the path to the turbo. aFe measures 340 CFM at 7" H₂O — 15% more flow than the factory intake — for dyno-proven gains of up to +13 horsepower and +14 lbs. x ft. of torque.

This version is supplied with the oiled Pro 5R filter: a 6" tall, 360-degree radial-flow element on a 4-1/2" round flange, built from five layers of progressively finer cotton gauze. It is washable and re-usable, and aFe rates the media as best suited to street and track use.

A large clear sight window in the housing lets you inspect the filter without disassembling anything. The system uses the factory mounting locations and aFe’s patent-pending filter-to-housing interface, so it goes together with about half the parts of a conventional cold air intake. Stainless-steel worm clamps and a premium bellows coupling are included.

Additional Parts Required

• None. aFe Power specifies no additional hardware, tune or fluids for this intake — it is a direct bolt-on kit that requires no cutting or drilling of factory parts.
• Installer-supplied: basic hand tools, including a T-handle or driver for M4 Torx screws and a nut driver for the hose clamps.
• Optional service item: the Pro 5R filter is a washable, re-usable oiled cotton-gauze element and must be re-oiled with aFe filter oil after each cleaning.
