aFe Momentum GT Pro Dry S Cold Air Intake – BMW M340i (G20, B58)

OVERVIEW

The aFe Power Momentum GT cold air intake replaces the restrictive factory airbox on the B58-powered BMW M340i and its G-chassis siblings with a fully sealed, high-flow system. aFe measured up to +9 horsepower and +10 lbs. x ft. of torque on the dyno, with the system outflowing the factory intake by 10% and moving 325 CFM at 7" H2O.

Air is drawn through a 6" tall, 360-degree radial-flow Pro DRY S filter built on a 4-1/2" round flange. The three-layer synthetic media is oil-free, so it delivers strong filtration efficiency and dust-holding capacity without the maintenance of an oiled element, and it washes clean for reuse. The filter sits inside a smooth one-piece sealed housing molded from heat-resistant XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) polymer, which uses aFe's patent-pending filter-to-housing interface and carries a large clear sight window so the filter can be inspected without disassembling anything.

The dyno-tuned intake tube is also molded in heat-soak-resistant XLPE, and a durable aluminum heat-shield panel keeps hot engine air away from the housing. Stainless-steel worm clamps and a premium silicone bellows coupling complete the assembly. Because the system mounts to factory locations and uses roughly half the hardware of a conventional cold air intake, installation is quick and requires no cutting or drilling.
