OVERVIEW

The aFe Power Momentum GT is a fully sealed cold air intake for the N55-powered BMW F2x/F3x range, including the F87 M2. aFe rates it at up to +15 horsepower and +13 lbs. x ft. of torque, outflowing the factory intake by up to 10%.

The system is built around a one-piece sealed housing with an auxiliary air inlet, which replaces multi-piece factory-style boxes and feeds the filter the coolest charge available. A large clear sight window lets the filter be inspected without pulling anything apart, and the patent-pending filter-to-housing interface allows a much larger element than a conventional airbox while cutting part count. The housing carries a lightweight, high-gloss clear-coated 2 x 2 twill-weave carbon fiber trim overlay for a motorsport look.

Inside sits a 7-1/2" tall inverted-top, 360-degree radial-flow Pro 5R air filter using five layers of progressively finer mesh cotton gauze media, pre-oiled for maximum airflow and cleanable for reuse. A CAD-designed, dyno-tuned roto-molded intake tube connects the housing to the turbo inlet, and a premium stainless-steel clamp secures the joint. No cutting or drilling of factory parts is required.
