aFe Stage 2 Pro 5R Intake 54-11272 – BMW M5 (E60)

OVERVIEW

For the largest possible gain from an intake on the S85 V10, the aFe POWER Magnum FORCE Stage-2 system replaces the entire air box and intake tract on both banks with open-element Pro 5R filters and dyno-tuned aFe tubes. aFe records maximum gains of +28 horsepower and +24 lbs. x ft. of torque, with the system out-flowing the factory intake by 117%.

Each side uses a built-in ram scoop that forces cold air into the filter rather than letting the tube float in engine bay heat, and a specially developed 3-angle velocity stack adapter dramatically increases airflow from the filter into the intake tube. Raised clamp stops molded into the aFe tubes give a more secure seal and eliminate the slippage seen on flat, straight tubes.

The Pro 5R element is a washable and reusable conical filter built from 100% polyurethane with progressively finer mesh cotton gauze media for maximum airflow. aFe finishes the kit with top-quality hardware including stainless steel button head bolts and brass inserts.

Additional Parts Required

• None. aFe POWER specifies no additional hardware for this intake system - it reuses the factory mass air sensors and all required mounting hardware is supplied.
• Installer-supplied tools: metric socket and wrench set, hex/Allen key set, flat-blade screwdriver and pliers.
• Optional service item: an oiled-media filter cleaning and re-oiling kit for periodic maintenance. Pro 5R elements must be re-oiled after cleaning.
