AMS Performance BMW G8X M2/M3/M4 S58 Heat Exchanger

OVERVIEW

The AMS Performance heat exchanger for the BMW G8X S58 platform is the largest drop-in unit available for the M2, M3 and M4. Its dual-pass core is 35% larger than the factory unit and holds double the coolant, keeping intake temperatures down and power consistent on track, during high-speed pulls, or in hot climates. Billet 6061-T6 end tanks are CAD-designed and CNC-machined so the unit slides in and locks into the factory mounting points with no cutting or drilling.

In AMS testing, including time-attack validation on a BMW M2 race car, the AMS unit recorded a peak intercooler air outlet temperature of 112.8°F versus 116.4°F for the OEM system and 120.2°F for the leading aftermarket competitor. A separate coolant test showed a 16°F lower coolant outlet temperature than that competitor.
