OVERVIEW

AWE's Exhaust Suite gives the G90 M5 sedan and G99 M5 Touring two personalities on one platform. Both editions share a bespoke H-pipe and straight-through flow tuned to take the rasp out of the S68 V8 and leave a deep, clean tone.

Touring Edition is built around AWE's patented drone-canceling 180 Technology® for long-distance comfort, saving 19 lbs versus stock. Track Edition drops the drone-canceling internals for a louder, unfiltered sound and saves 29.5 lbs. AWE notes the Track Edition is loud inside and out and cannot be returned for sound preference.

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• None required. The OE exhaust gaskets, flange hardware, hangers and chassis brace bolts are reused.
• If the OE flange gaskets are damaged they must be replaced: BMW part number 18-30-9-504-710 (×2, from a BMW dealer; not included).
• Anti-seize for the tip hardware is recommended.

• In brief: the chassis brace and rear splash guard come off, the OE exhaust is unbolted at the flanges and hangers, and the AWE system goes in front to back. Clamps are snugged only until the full system is aligned, then torqued to a minimum of 60 ft-lbs. Heat-cycle and recheck tip alignment; allow 800–1,000 miles of break-in.
