OVERVIEW
If you are looking for the perfect combination of sport dynamics on a 2008–2012 BMW M3, as well as better-than-stock appearance and handling, the BILSTEIN B12 (Pro-Kit) suspension package is the right track. It provides a dramatic increase in the M3’s performance handling characteristics and is designed for drivers wanting precision control with a maintained level of driver comfort, while seeking out more curves to conquer.
A set of BILSTEIN dampers and EIBACH Pro-Kit performance springs are road-tested and fine-tuned to complement each other in the E90 M3 sedan and E92 M3 coupe. BILSTEIN calls the matched damper-and-spring approach its Professional Cornering System (PCS): precise response, excellent performance, predictable control, lowering up to 40 mm, and a lower, action-ready looking M3.
Call us if you need assistance selecting your E9X M3 suspension — we are experts on the E90 and E92 M3 V8 platform.

TECH RESOURCES
Additional Parts Required
- Four-wheel alignment. A full four-wheel alignment is required after installation — camber, caster and toe all change when ride height changes.
- Professional installation. BILSTEIN requires that the work be carried out by a qualified technician on a chassis hoist with proper spring-compression equipment; improper installation risks serious injury.
- Non-EDC rear upper mounting components. Vehicles equipped with Electronic Damping Control (EDC) must fit non-EDC upper mounting components for the rear dampers. Check whether your car has EDC before ordering.
- Installer-supplied: chassis hoist or jack stands, spring compressor, and a torque wrench — do not use impact tools on suspension fasteners.
Installation
- BILSTEIN shock absorber and spring mounting instructions (E4-WM5-Y180A00, DE/EN, PDF)
- BILSTEIN strut / shock absorber mounting instructions (E4-WM5-Y065A00, DE/EN, PDF)
Notes
- This B12 kit fits the BMW M3 2008–2012, sedan and coupe models only — it is not listed for the E93 M3 convertible (Bilstein sells a B16 Clubsport coilover, not a B12 Pro-Kit, for the E93 M3 convertible). Vehicles equipped with EDC must purchase non-EDC upper mounting components for the rear damper. BILSTEIN publishes generic mounting instructions for this kit rather than a vehicle-specific guide; use them alongside the BMW factory repair procedure for your chassis.
