OVERVIEW

The engineers at Bilstein created the ultimate race-inspired street suspension. This version of the B16 PSS10 is tuned for a little more street comfort than the standard PSS10, which makes it a strong choice for cars that see far more daily driving than track action — but with all of the adjustability and technology of the standard E82/E9X PSS10 kit.

The manually adjustable monotube gas dampers offer ten precise compression and rebound settings, from maximum comfort to aggressive sport, selected by the twist of a dial. The threaded damper bodies allow accurate adjustment of the front and rear progressive-rate springs, so you can set vehicle ride height, center of gravity and handling balance exactly where you want them.

The kit is designed specifically for the E82 1 Series (128i, 135i and 135is) and rear-wheel-drive E90/E92 3 Series (325i, 328i, 330i, 335i and 335is). Bilstein road-tests and fine-tunes these kits under extreme motorsport conditions, including the Autobahn and the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Additional Parts Required

• None. Bilstein supplies this as a complete front and rear kit and specifies no additional hardware for installation.
• A four-wheel alignment is mandatory after installation — changing ride height alters camber, caster and toe.
• Professional installation is strongly recommended. Spring compressors and BMW strut tooling are required, and the front strut assemblies are under spring load.
• Damping is set by hand at each corner — allow access to all four dampers when choosing ride height, and set front and rear to matching positions before road testing.
• Re-check ride height and re-torque the fasteners after the springs have settled, then re-align the car if the height is changed again later.
