Burger Motorsports B58 BMW M240i M340i M440i Competition Cold Air Intake

OVERVIEW

The Burger Motorsports Competition Cold Air Intake is built for the Gen 2 B58 powered 2019+ BMW M340i, 2022+ M440i and 2022+ M240i, including xDrive models, with Gen 3 B58 fitments also covered.

Developed over more than a year of street and track testing, it is the first intake for the Gen 2 B58 that keeps a clean OEM+ look and OEM materials while delivering the sound and airflow of an open intake. Inside is the BMS proprietary renewable inverted cone performance filter; outside, OEM-level fitment and finish. The airbox lid carries a clear window for quick filter inspection, the intake uses the OEM cold air inlet, and a large inlet hole on the cold side of the airbox feeds more air and more induction sound. The factory heat shield is reused to keep intake air temperatures as low as BMW intended, and the rubber accordion hose and factory resonator are replaced with a smooth pipe to deliver less turbulent air to the turbo.

The BMS renewable inverted cone filter outflows the stock paper element, lasts the life of the vehicle, and includes a built-in velocity stack so air is drawn into the intake system more smoothly — the same approach used in most racing applications.

Required Extras

• None. Burger Motorsports specifies no additional hardware for this intake — it reuses the OEM heat shield and OEM cold air ducting.
• Installer-supplied tools: basic hand tools plus hex drivers for the supplied M4 and M6 button head screws.
• Optional service item: the BMS renewable filter is cleaned and re-oiled rather than replaced, so a filter cleaning and oiling kit is worth keeping on hand.
