Dinan Adjustable Coilover Suspension System – BMW M5 / M6 Gran Coupe

OVERVIEW

The Dinan Adjustable Coil-Over Suspension was developed in the race lab and refined on the street for versatility. The added traction inspires confidence at higher speeds, and the substantial reduction in body roll, dive under braking and squat under acceleration is what Dinan builds the kit around: superior handling and performance without giving up comfort.

Dinan's design keeps the factory Electronic Damper Control shocks in place and adds threaded collars so ride height can be changed by the user. The result is a lowered stance with improved handling. Springs, progressive bump stops and the supporting components increase travel so the car can be lowered up to 1.25 in on the M5 and 1.125 in on the M6. Suspension packers are included to fine-tune handling and comfort by changing the clearance of the progressive bump stops. The machined components are made from 6061-T6 aluminum and black anodized for appearance and corrosion protection.

Additional Parts Required

• Factory EDC shocks — Dinan's instructions state these components are designed to work in conjunction with the stock BMW EDC front and rear shocks and must not be used for other applications. The vehicle must be EDC equipped; the shocks are reused, not supplied.
• Four-wheel alignment — required after installation and after any subsequent ride height change.
• Tire and fender clearance check — per Dinan's warning above, clearance must be verified at full lock and full suspension compression before the car is driven, especially with aftermarket wheel and tire packages.
• Optional pairing: Dinan Lightweight Tubular Anti-Roll Bar Set for the same platform.
• Installer-supplied tools: spring compressor, torque wrench, vehicle lift and the standard BMW suspension service tools.

• Due to the extensive lowering possible and the increased suspension travel, the installer must carefully evaluate tire clearance under all situations. Safety will be compromised if all precautions are not taken. Dinan is not responsible for any property damage or injury.
• Dinan lists this kit for EDC-equipped cars only, and its installation instructions cite a narrower 2013–2015 build range than the catalog listing. Confirm your car's damper configuration and build date with Speed Logic before ordering.
