Eventuri Black Carbon Intake – BMW M3 (E9x)

OVERVIEW

The BMW E9X M3 Eventuri intake system is the result of extensive research and optimization applied to what is arguably one of the best designed stock intakes Eventuri has worked with. The E9X airbox is a well engineered system with an excellent flow path and ambient air feed, but closer inspection revealed restrictions in the inlet tube connecting the airbox to the inlet manifold.

By redesigning that tube while retaining the factory airbox, Eventuri allowed the S65 V8 to breathe with greater efficiency and gain power. A further restriction was identified in the air feed system, so a carbon scoop was designed to increase airflow through the airbox. That reduces inlet temperatures and adds to the performance gain of the system.

• Dyno-verified gain of 8–10 hp and 10–12 lb-ft, as published by Eventuri
• Road dyno (Insoric) gain of 16 hp and 14 Nm, as published by Eventuri
• 100–200 km/h acceleration reduced by 0.3 seconds (V-Box measured)
• Air mass flow at 5,000 rpm: 635 kg/h stock vs 650 kg/h with Eventuri
• Air mass flow at 8,300 rpm: 1,168 kg/h stock vs 1,202 kg/h with Eventuri
• Intake air temperature above ambient at 5,000 rpm: 9.6 °C stock vs 5.3 °C with Eventuri
• Carbon fiber intake tube and inlet scoop; retains the factory airbox
• Gloss black carbon finish; Eventuri also offers a matte carbon version
• High flow urethane cone filter

Additional Parts Required

• None. Eventuri specifies no additional hardware for this part — it is a complete bolt-on kit and no tune is required.
• The Eventuri carbon fiber airbox cover is a separate styling item and is not included with this intake. It is not required to run the system.
