Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System – BMW X5 M50i (G05) / X6 M50i (G06)

OVERVIEW

The Eventuri BMW G05 X5 / G06 X6 M50i Black Carbon Intake System is an adaptation of Eventuri's X5M intake, a complete redesign of the stock airboxes aimed at reducing pressure loss while increasing flow rate and keeping inlet temperatures low. With the factory cold air feeds at the front of the car and the turbo inlets facing the rear, the airflow has to negotiate a 180 degree turn through each airbox, which creates a restriction.

To overcome this, Eventuri introduced an additional cold air feed from the scuttle panel, giving a more direct flow path to the turbo inlets. The extra feeds allow a higher flow rate while keeping IATs low, and have the side benefit of de-restricting turbo sound — with the intake openings now facing the cabin, turbo flutter and pressure release are clearly audible. The system uses Eventuri's patented carbon fiber housings with Gen 2 bespoke filters, which provide an aerodynamically efficient path from the filter to the turbos and maintain laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the turbo.

Because the filter housings are designed for maximum volume, the OEM engine cover no longer fits. Eventuri therefore supplies a redesigned carbon cover that finishes off the engine bay and conceals the engine hardware, with deliberate gaps between the cover and the intakes so heat coming off the engine dissipates rather than soaking into the intake system.
