Evolution Racewerks 4" Downpipe – BMW M135i / M235i (N55)

OVERVIEW

The Evolution Racewerks Competition Series 4" Catless Downpipe replaces the restrictive factory downpipe and catalytic converter on the N55 single-turbo six cylinder, covering the F30 335i, F32/F33 435i and F20/F21/F22 M135i and M235i.

The factory catalytic converter is built from catalyst material formed into a honeycomb weave. Exhaust gas has to pass through those tiny passages on its way to the exhaust system, which creates a major flow restriction and causes turbulence downstream that slows exhaust flow further. Replacing the factory downpipe with the Competition Series 4" catless unit removes that restriction, and Evolution Racewerks states the result is a higher maximum horsepower curve, a torque curve that arrives sooner and holds longer, better throttle response and faster turbo spool.

The downpipe is mandrel bent for a smooth transition into the exhaust system and is fully TIG welded in house by Evolution Racewerks for consistent weld quality and track-tested durability.
