Evolution Racewerks BMW 335i /435i (F30 / F32) Charge Pipe (N55)

OVERVIEW

The Evolution Racewerks Charge Pipe Kit replaces the factory plastic charge pipe on the F chassis N55 single-turbo six cylinder engine. Once boost is turned up with a tune the factory pipe is prone to splitting, and this kit replaces it with mandrel bent 6061 aluminium that Evolution Racewerks backs with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Charged intake airflow is often overlooked, but it has a direct effect on throttle response, turbo lag and ultimately maximum power. Smooth bends and minimal obstructions are what matter, so the pipe uses mandrel bent 6061 tubing and steps up to 3" at the throttle body where the factory pipe is only 2.5", giving full flow with no step at the throttle plate.

Evolution Racewerks was the first manufacturer to duplicate the factory throttle body flange on an N54 charge pipe and brings the same design to the N55 pipe. The factory connection uses an o-ring inside the throttle body flange locked in place by a c-clip. It seals well, makes removal and installation quick, and in Evolution Racewerks testing it was pressure tested to 25 PSI without any sign of failure — testing stopped there only because a turbo intake pipe blew off. BMW uses the same style of connection in the cooling and clutch systems.
