Evolution Racewerks Turbo-to-Intercooler Charge Pipe – BMW N55 (E Chassis)

OVERVIEW

Evolution Racewerks' Turbo to Intercooler (TIC) Charge Pipe replaces the factory plastic pipe running from the turbocharger to the intercooler on E-chassis N55 single-turbo cars. The factory piece is a known weak point that can break under high boost; the ER replacement is mandrel-bent from lightweight 6061 aluminum and sized at 2.5 inches to match the intercooler.

Charged intake airflow characteristics are frequently ignored, yet they have a direct effect on throttle response, turbo lag and maximum power potential. Smooth bends and minimal obstructions are ideal, and because airflow travels along the outer edges of a pipe, a hard pipe that holds a constant inner diameter and cannot balloon or collapse delivers better throttle response and less turbo lag.

The pipe keeps the factory-style o-ring lock flange. The precision CNC machined flange gives a leak-free connection at the turbocharger and intercooler and makes connection and disconnection quick, rather than relying on the silicone hose and hose clamp arrangement used by most other aftermarket charge pipes.
