Black Market Race Gen 2 B58 Turbo Heat Shield

OVERVIEW

Keeping intake air temps down on a B58-powered car is a real challenge in hot climates. Black Market Race built this heat shield to deflect heat away from the intake side of the turbo without fully trapping high temperatures against it.

In their own shop testing on a B58-powered M240 at 110°F ambient, adding the BMR heat shield produced a significant drop in IAT versus the unshielded car: roughly 120°F after 30 minutes of normal driving, and a peak of only 127°F after a WOT 2nd-to-5th-gear pull — down from IATs as high as 140°F without it.
