KW Variant 1 Coilovers – BMW 128i / 135i (E82)

OVERVIEW

KW Variant 1 is the sporty, balanced entry point into the KW coilover range. The damping is preset at the factory, so there are no adjuster knobs to learn — KW's engineers set the valving through extensive testing to balance sporty handling, ride comfort and safety.

What you do control is ride height. The threaded strut bodies let you choose exactly how much the car sits down, which makes the V1 a good fit for owners who want a lower stance and sharper handling without committing to a fully adjustable damper setup.

Additional Parts Required

• A four-wheel alignment is mandatory after installation and after any subsequent ride-height change.
• Professional installation is required; spring compressors and correct torque procedures are needed to service the struts safely.
• Check tire and wheel clearance to the strut body and to the fender before driving, especially with aftermarket wheel and tire packages.

Notes

• KW's installation instructions for this kit are titled for the BMW 1-Series generally (types 187/1KC/1K4 hatch and 182/1C coupe), but Turn14's official vehicle-fitment data for this part number lists Coupe-body applications only — 128i, 135i and 135is (E82) — with no E81/E87 hatchback entry. The 1 Series hatchback was never sold in North America, so the title and table below reflect the Coupe-only fitment confirmed against Turn14's data on 2026-09-02. The BMW 1M Coupe uses a different KW order number. Verify your exact model year and options with Speed Logic if you are unsure.
