KW Coilover Kit Variant 4 (V4) 3-Way Adjustable – BMW M5 (F10) / M6 (F06 / F12 / F13)

OVERVIEW

The KW Variant 4 is KW's three-way adjustable coilover for fast road and track use. Low-speed compression, high-speed compression and rebound are set on separate adjusters, so body control over curbs and big compressions can be dialed in without also making the car harsh over small inputs. That separation is the whole point of a 3-way damper and it is what the Variant 3 cannot do.

On the F10 M5 and F06/F12/F13 M6 the factory damper is the limit long before the twin-turbo V8 is. Stock struts run a fixed valving curve chosen for showroom ride quality and the ride height is not adjustable. The V4 replaces the strut assembly outright with an adjustable-height, adjustable-damping unit.

This listing covers the F10 M5 sedan and the F06/F12/F13 M6. Choose 3A720097 for an M5 with no factory electronic dampers. Choose 3A720098, KW's Bundle, for an M5 with EDC or for any M6 — F06 Gran Coupe, F12 coupe, or F13 convertible — which ships with the KW ESC/EDC cancellation module.

• If your F10 M5 has factory EDC, order the 3A720098 Bundle rather than adding a module separately — KW does not publish a standalone ESC cancellation module part number for this chassis in our store.
• A corner-balance and a full four-wheel alignment are required after installation. Budget for both before the car is driven.
