OVERVIEW
KW Height Adjustable Spring (H.A.S.) kits are the alternative to conventional lowering springs for owners who do not want to be locked into one fixed drop. The threaded height adjusters let you set and re-set ride height after the kit is installed, so the car gets the stance you actually want, and the more agile steering response and body control that come with it, without giving up anything else.
The kit works with the factory dampers, which means every driver assistance system and comfort feature of the car's adaptive or electronic suspension stays operational. KW uses chrome-silicon steel springs with rates developed specifically for each OE damper and wheel load, so the spring and damper characteristics stay matched. Vehicle-specific bump stops with a dust protection system are included to protect the factory dampers from road grime and debris.
As with a coilover, the adjustment range is continuous within a tested window — the spring perches and dust protection elements supplied are set up for the maximum drop the factory dampers will technically allow. KW develops the vehicle-specific spring parameters on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and in its own 7-post Driving Dynamic Test Center.

TECH RESOURCES
Additional Parts Required
- Four-wheel alignment — a full four-wheel alignment is mandatory after installation and after any subsequent ride-height change.
- Professional installation — KW specifies fitment by a qualified suspension shop; installation at a KW specialist dealer is also what qualifies the kit for KW's extended warranty coverage.
- Tire-to-strut and fender clearance check — verify clearance at full lock and full compression, particularly with aftermarket wheel and tire packages.
- Ride-height sensor handling — cars fitted with headlight-leveling or adaptive-damper ride-height sensors require the sensor links to be relocated or adapted to the new ride height per KW's instructions.
- Driver-assistance recalibration — camera- and radar-based driver-assistance systems must be recalibrated after the vehicle is lowered.
- Installer-supplied tools: spring compressor, torque wrench, and the standard BMW suspension service tools.
Installation
- KW supplies vehicle-specific printed installation instructions and a parts certificate (Teilegutachten) in the box with every kit.
- Speed Logic could not confirm a downloadable KW installation PDF for this application; contact us if you need a copy before purchase.
