Mishimoto Automatic Transmission Cooler – Toyota GR Supra (A90)

OVERVIEW

The ZF 8HP automatic behind the B58 in the A90 GR Supra is quick-thinking and durable, but sustained hard use still generates more heat than the factory cooling can comfortably shed. Toyota and BMW fitted the car with an external liquid-to-air transmission cooler from the factory; Mishimoto's replacement takes the same idea considerably further.

With room available in the stock location, Mishimoto's engineers expanded the core to increase volume by 162% and external fin surface area by 412%, while retaining similar fluid pressures within the system. Internal cooling fins were added to maximize heat transfer, and the design deliberately minimizes pressure drop so flow through the system is not compromised — useful on long track days or a hard drive through the back roads.

The cooler uses a lightweight aluminum tube-and-fin core powder-coated in a silver finish, and is covered by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.

Additional Parts Required

• None. Mishimoto specifies no additional hardware for this cooler — it is a direct fit in the factory transmission cooler location.

Notes

• Mishimoto officially lists MMTC-SUP-20 for the 2020+ Toyota GR Supra 3.0L. The BMW G20 and G29 applications are carried over from earlier listing data and Mishimoto offers a separate M340i / Z4 cooler — please confirm fitment with Speed Logic before ordering.
