Mishimoto Intercooler – BMW 135i / 335i / 335is (N54 / N55)

OVERVIEW

The E9X-generation BMW is happy soaking up highway miles during the week and running the track at the weekend, and with modest modifications the turbocharged straight-six produces substantial power. That added power pushes the limits of the factory charge-air system: the stock tube-and-fin intercooler is prone to heat soak. Mishimoto's bar-and-plate replacement is engineered specifically for the 335i, 335xi and 135i.

The intercooler is a direct-fit unit with a 22% increase in core volume and requires no modification to the vehicle. It is built with cast end tanks and precision CNC-machined aluminum quick-disconnect fittings that mate with the factory intercooler piping, and the whole assembly is 100% aluminum with precision TIG-welding.

In Mishimoto's testing the intercooler reduced intake air temperatures by 35°F (19.45°C) and produced an increase of 20+ hp while retaining factory boost pressure across the core. Installation takes under an hour, the intercooler is offered in silver or black, it carries CARB EO # D-759, and it is covered by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.
