Mishimoto DCT Transmission Cooler – BMW M3 / M4 (F80 / F82)

OVERVIEW

The F8X platform demands peak performance, and the dual-clutch transmission fitted to the M2 Competition, M3 and M4 delivers lightning-fast, precise gear changes. Extreme heat applied to that transmission, however, will quickly knock an M car down a few pegs. The Mishimoto DCT Transmission Cooler is designed to give the DCT the cooling headroom to keep up on both street and track.

Mishimoto built the cooler from the ground up around a new 1.25" thick core, resulting in a 42% increase in core volume and a 69% increase in external fin surface area. The improvements go beyond size: the core uses a dual-pass flow configuration and internal fins for improved heat transfer, which together lift heat rejection and give better regulation of DCT temperatures.

The cooler is finished in silver powder coat, ships with an application-specific spacer for exact fitment, and is covered by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.

Additional Parts Required

• None. Mishimoto specifies no additional hardware for this cooler — the application-specific spacer and mounting hardware are supplied in the box.

• Mishimoto does not publish a downloadable installation guide for MMTC-F80-15. Contact Speed Logic for fitting support or refer to Mishimoto technical support at 1-877-466-4744.

Notes

• This cooler fits DCT-equipped cars only. Manual-transmission M3 / M4 models are not applicable.
