Mishimoto FMIC Intercooler Kit – BMW 228i / M235i / 335i / 435i (F20 / F30)

OVERVIEW

The Mishimoto Performance Intercooler is a direct-fit upgrade for the 2012–2016 BMW F22/F30 chassis. From the factory the N20, N26 and N55 engines are strong, but the stock tube-and-fin intercooler with plastic end tanks becomes the weak link on a turbocharged Bimmer — especially on a tuned car, where heat builds and power falls away.

Mishimoto replaces it with a 6-inch thick, bar-and-plate step core. A 115° angle in the top section adds charged-air cooling capacity without fully blocking the heat exchangers behind it, and the bar-and-plate construction maximizes heat dissipation while keeping pressure drop low. The header plate carries a shroud designed to seal against the curved factory crash beam, and the factory quick-disconnect fittings are retained so stock charge piping bolts straight up.

On Mishimoto's 2017 M2 test vehicle the intercooler dropped outlet temperatures by 45°F and added 10 whp and 8 wtq on the stock tune. It is offered in silver or black and carries the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.
