Motiv Reflex Plus I/O Integration – BMW / Toyota A9x (Flying Lead)

OVERVIEW

The Motiv ReFlex+ is a versatile controller that can be used in many different capacities to control a wide range of aftermarket performance parts. In its simplest form it works as a standalone sequential port fuel injector controller for engines with up to eight cylinders, running the injectors in batch, semi-batch or sequential fire modes. Each unit is fully configurable for any vehicle through programmable cam, crank and MAP sensor inputs, and Motiv publishes both universal and vehicle-specific starter maps.

Beyond injection, the ReFlex+ carries four auxiliary outputs that can be mapped to on/off, digital, analog, frequency (25 Hz) or PWM signals for control of methanol injection kits, nitrous kits, boost control solenoids, fuel pumps, relay triggers and the N54 flex fuel signal — the unit includes a built-in analog output for N54 MHD flex fuel integration. Four auxiliary inputs bring outside data into the control strategy: one is assigned to an ethanol content sensor for monitoring and flex fuel mapping, and the remainder can read sensors such as fuel pressure, exhaust gas back pressure, oil pressure, coolant pressure and crankcase pressure.

The ReFlex+ was also designed to work as an Advanced I/O Integration module. Through the optional CANbus integration it can pass external sensor data into the factory DME/ECU in parallel, so multiple digital and analog signals can be used by the factory ECU for safety, data logging or adaptive tuning features. That dual role — standalone controller and parallel module alongside the DME — is what sets it apart. Motiv has partnered with several major factory ECU flash companies to extend that integration. TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• Port fuel injectors and the associated fuel system hardware — not included with this controller.
• An ethanol content sensor is required if flex fuel monitoring or flex fuel mapping is to be used.
• A calibration from a supported factory ECU flash provider is required where the ReFlex+ is integrated with the DME over CANbus.
• Installer-supplied wiring, connectors and terminating tools: this is the flying-lead version and is not plug-and-play.
