CSF Cast-Endtank Race-Spec Engine Oil Cooler – BMW M3 (E9x)

  • Sale
  • Regular price $599.00

OVERVIEW

Developed in collaboration with supercharger system manufacturer VF Engineering, CSF's race-spec engine oil cooler replaces the E9X M3's mechanically jointed, tack-welded factory unit with a fully TIG-welded cast-end-tank design built for durability under sustained track use.

The tapered cast end tanks follow the contour of the OEM bumper, so aftermarket splitters still attach correctly, and it is the only cooler on the market for this platform that requires no cutting of the shroud. Eight rows of turbulated heavy-duty bar/plate core with a high-density multi-louvered fin pitch deliver roughly a 25% gain in cooling efficiency, and every OEM attaching component — oil lines, mounting brackets, shroud and ducting — bolts straight back on.

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

  • Late-style BMW oil cooler lines and O-rings — required on E9X M3s built up to 3/2008. BMW superseded the two oil lines for this cooler, and CSF #8025 was designed around the later-style lines. Early cars need engine oil cooler line, feed 17222284077; engine oil cooler line, return 17222284078; and O-ring 17222284079 (qty 2). Cars built after 3/2008 already have them.
  • Otherwise none — CSF specifies no additional hardware; the cooler reuses the OEM brackets, shroud and ducting.

Installation

  • CSF does not publish a downloadable installation PDF for this part. Printed installation instructions ship in the box.

Notes

  • Check your build date before ordering — M3s built up to 3/2008 need the later-style oil cooler lines and O-rings listed under Additional Parts Required.
