Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System V1 – BMW 330i (G20)

OVERVIEW

The BMW G20 B48 Eventuri intake was developed to give the turbo a less restrictive flow path while keeping inlet temperatures low. In the G20 the intake sits next to the exhaust manifold, which rapidly heat soaks the engine bay, and a turbo forced to build boost with heated, less dense air gives up performance. The only way to keep IATs to a minimum is a fully sealed intake, which normally creates a restriction because there is just one factory air feed to draw from.

During development Eventuri found an additional opening into the wheel well area and took advantage of it by adding a secondary feed to the airbox. The sealed airbox also carries a gold reflective heat shield to minimize radiative heat transfer from the exhaust manifold, and internal volume was maximized with a recess left for potential strut braces. The convoluted stock intake tube is replaced by a smooth carbon tube of larger internal volume that tapers down to match the turbo inlet, and the system is finished with a custom high-flow dry filter that is ISO tested for filtration performance and has a larger filtration area than stock.

The G20 3 Series B48 system uses Eventuri's patented carbon fiber housings with their Gen 2 bespoke filters, providing an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo. It is not another cone filter with a heat shield but a design that invokes the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the turbo.
