Evolution Racewerks Competition Series 4.5" Catless Downpipe – BMW B58 F & G Chassis

OVERVIEW

Evolution Racewerks' Competition Series 4.5" Catless Downpipe is designed for the B58 six-cylinder turbo engine in F- and G-chassis BMW models: the M240i, 340i, 440i, 540i, 740i and 840i, the X3 M40i and X4 M40i, the X5, X6 and X7 xDrive40i, and the Z4 M40i. Mandrel-bent 4.5" piping matches the B58 turbo outlet, which is larger than the N55's 4" outlet, and uses long, smooth transitions down to the exhaust.

Evolution Racewerks reports gains of 32 whp and 16 wtq, with a power curve that shifts left for reduced turbo lag. The downpipe is built entirely from 304 stainless steel, 100% TIG welded, and made in the USA, with a precision CNC machined turbocharger V-band flange. It works with the factory exhaust system or an aftermarket one.

Ceramic thermal coating is offered as an option. It keeps exhaust heat inside the downpipe, lowering underhood temperatures and keeping exhaust velocity up. ER's thermal coating resists up to 2000°F and is available in black only.

Installation

• Evolution Racewerks does not publish an installation guide or video for this downpipe. It bolts to the factory turbocharger V-band flange and reconnects to the factory or aftermarket exhaust using the supplied hardware.
