OVERVIEW
Evolution Racewerks' Sports Series High Flow Catted Downpipes are built for the twin turbo S58 engine and fit 2020 and newer BMW X3M and X4M models. They replace the restrictive factory downpipes with a 200 cell metallic core and mandrel bent 3" piping for a higher maximum horsepower curve, a torque curve that arrives sooner and holds longer, better throttle response and faster spool.
The factory catalytic converter is a major exhaust restriction: its catalyst material is formed into tight honeycomb weaves that exhaust must squeeze through, and the turbulence it creates downstream slows flow further. ER uses a 200 cell metallic core, so each cell is larger and gas passes through more easily. Lower cell count equals higher flow, and higher flow means more power, less turbo lag and better throttle response. A metallic core also tolerates higher temperatures, lasts longer and weighs less than the factory ceramic unit.
Construction is 100% 304 grade stainless steel with mandrel bent piping, 100% TIG welded by ER's in-house fabricators and built in the USA. The 3.5" factory turbine housing V-band flange is duplicated and CNC machined from billet 304 stainless, the O2 sensor stays in its factory location, and the factory donut flange design and slip-on connection are retained, making the kit 100% bolt on. The downpipes are designed to fit the factory exhaust system or an aftermarket system with no compatibility issues.

Installation
- Evolution Racewerks does not publish a downloadable installation guide for these downpipes. They bolt to the factory turbocharger V-band flanges and reconnect to the factory or aftermarket exhaust using the retained slip-on joints.
