Evolution Racewerks Turbo-to-Intercooler Charge Pipe – BMW N20 / N26 (F2X / F3X)

OVERVIEW

Take a look at the factory rubber charge pipe that runs from the turbocharger to the intercooler on the N20 and N26 four-cylinder engines. Squeeze it and it collapses with very little effort — then imagine what happens to it under boost. The Evolution Racewerks Turbo to Intercooler (TIC) Charge Pipe replaces that soft rubber hose with mandrel-bent, lightweight 6061 aluminum piping sized at 2.5 inches to match the intercooler.

Charged intake airflow characteristics are often ignored, yet they greatly affect throttle response, turbo lag and ultimately maximum power potential. Smooth bends and minimal obstructions are ideal, and because airflow tends to travel along the outer edges of a pipe, hard piping that holds a constant inner diameter and cannot balloon or collapse produces better throttle response and less turbo lag.

The pipe retains a factory-style o-ring lock flange. Precision CNC machined, it gives a leak-free connection at the turbocharger and intercooler and stays quick to connect and disconnect, unlike the silicone hose and hose clamp joints found on most other aftermarket charge pipes.
