OVERVIEW
The H&R Premium Performance Coil Over is the upgraded version of H&R's height-adjustable street suspension for the E9x 3-Series. Its headline feature is aluminium front strut housings, which H&R credits with a 30–40% weight reduction over the standard steel housings for improved suspension articulation and handling response.
The system is fully threaded and custom valved, with progressive-rate springs front and rear, so ride height can be set anywhere in the working range instead of a single fixed drop. Lowering the centre of gravity reduces body roll and balances weight transfer through corners while keeping the car driveable every day.
The aluminium components are black anodised for corrosion resistance, and the system carries TÜV and ISO certification.

TECH RESOURCES
Additional Parts Required
- Four-wheel alignment after installation and after any ride-height change. H&R requires the wheel alignment to be checked any time ride height is adjusted.
- Professional installation. H&R states its springs and suspensions should be installed by professional suspension mechanics only.
- Set the coil overs to the highest setting in the working range on first install, verify all clearances, then lower to the desired height — particularly important with aftermarket wheels.
- H&R recommends applying Boeshield T-9 lubricant to the adjuster threads before and after adjustment to keep dirt out.
- If your car is fitted with EDC / adaptive dampers, confirm compatibility with Speed Logic before ordering.
Installation
