HKS Carbon Brace with Graphite Design – Toyota GR Supra A90/A91

OVERVIEW

The HKS Carbon Brace for the GR Supra was co-developed with Graphite Design, the Japanese maker of carbon golf shafts used on the pro tour, and tested with racing driver Manabu Orido. Rather than simply making the chassis as stiff as possible, it uses a strong but deliberately flexible Japanese carbon shaft to produce a controlled "flex" that improves both handling and ride comfort. In HKS's testing the ride was smoother than with the factory brace.

The braces fit like original equipment. Compared with other braces, the HKS design adds a mounting point and an inner lid so it does not look like an add-on. The end brackets are machined aluminum with a clear anodized finish and a laser-engraved HKS logo, and the carbon gives the engine bay and rear cabin a premium look.

It is sold as a full front-and-rear set, or as front and rear sets separately. HKS evaluated and tuned the braces as a front-and-rear pair, so it recommends the full set; the separate front and rear sets are made to order.

• Factory brace: GR Supra 3.0 DB02 and DB06 cars have a factory aluminum brace in this position, which is removed when the HKS brace is installed.
