OVERVIEW
A normal blow-off valve opens using manifold vacuum when you lift off the throttle. Engines that make no vacuum — diesels in particular — can't trigger one. The HKS Super SQV4D solves this with a Boost Drive Controller (BDC) and solenoid valve that operate the SQV using positive boost pressure instead, so it works on diesel engines as well as conventional turbo cars.
The controller gives you control over how it behaves. An on/off switch turns the SQV function on or off at any time, a trigger switch fires the valve on demand, and two adjusters set the accelerator point at which the SQV activates and how long it stays open. Indicator lights show when the system is in standby and when the valve is operating.
This is the universal kit. Fitting it to a vehicle also needs a flange, pipe and hoses to suit, which are not included.

- Required extras: an SQV mounting flange, charge pipe and hoses to suit your vehicle — HKS notes these are not supplied and must be sourced before installation. BMW N54 owners can use an Evolution Racewerks HKS-flange charge pipe kit.

- Gasoline car with normal vacuum? The standard HKS Super SQV4 Universal 71008-AK001 is simpler and does not need the controller.
