Injen Short Ram Intake (Black) – BMW 128i / 328i (N52)

OVERVIEW

The SP series is Injen Technology's flagship traditional aluminum intake line. Injen produced the world's first tuned air intake system and holds four patents covering the intake tuning process, including MegaRam (MR) Technology (patents 7,359,795 and 7,669,571) and Air Fusion (patent 7,721,669). Both are built into this SP1121 short ram system for the N52-powered BMW 1 and 3 Series.

The heart of the kit is a mandrel-formed 6061-T6 aluminum intake tube that gives the engine a smooth, uninterrupted path to the throttle body in place of the restrictive factory airbox. Injen developed the tube geometry on the dyno to deliver up to 12 horsepower and 11 lb-ft of torque while holding a safe air/fuel ratio across the whole power band, so no additional tuning is required. A custom heat shield built specifically for this application keeps the filter separated from underhood heat.

Air is drawn through a fully serviceable Injen SuperNano-Web dry filter, which adds filtration surface area for greater airflow without an oiled media. The result is a noticeably more aggressive intake tone under full throttle. This kit is made in Pomona, California and carries the Injen Technology Limited Lifetime Warranty.

• None. Injen specifies no additional hardware, tuning or fluids for this intake — all required mounting hardware is supplied in the kit.

• sl-note: Fitment years above follow Injen's official application listing, which extends coverage to 2013 for the 128i and 328i/328xi. The CARB EO # D-476-8 exemption covers a narrower range of years and excludes all SULEV vehicles — check your emissions test group before ordering for a California-registered car.
