KW V1 Coilover Kit – BMW 3 Series xDrive (E90 / E92)

OVERVIEW

The KW Variant 1 coilover system is for the owner who wants to choose their own ride height but is happy to leave the damping to KW. The dampers are set at the factory, with the valving arrived at through extensive driving tests aimed at the best balance between sporty response, ride comfort and safety — there is nothing to adjust and nothing to get wrong.

Height is individually adjustable at each corner within a German TÜV-tested range, and KW includes its inox-line stainless steel technology at no extra charge, so the housings do not corrode and the threaded adjustment keeps working over the life of the kit.

Additional Parts Required

• Four-wheel alignment — a full four-wheel alignment is mandatory after installation and after any subsequent ride-height change.
• Professional installation — KW specifies fitment by a qualified suspension shop; installation at a KW specialist dealer is also what qualifies the kit for KW's extended warranty coverage.
• Tire-to-strut and fender clearance check — verify clearance at full lock and full compression, particularly with aftermarket wheel and tire packages.
• Ride-height sensor handling — cars fitted with headlight-leveling or adaptive-damper ride-height sensors require the sensor links to be relocated or adapted to the new ride height per KW's instructions.
• Installer-supplied tools: spring compressor, torque wrench, and the standard BMW suspension service tools.

Installation

• KW supplies vehicle-specific printed installation instructions and a parts certificate (Teilegutachten) in the box with every kit.
