KW Coilover Kit Variant 4 (V4) 3-Way Adjustable – BMW M3 / M4 Competition xDrive (G80 / G81 / G82 / G83)

OVERVIEW

The KW Variant 4 is KW's three-way adjustable coilover for fast road and track use. Low-speed compression, high-speed compression and rebound are set on separate adjusters, so body control over curbs and big compressions can be dialed in without also making the car harsh over small inputs. That separation is the whole point of a 3-way damper and it is what the Variant 3 cannot do.

On the G8X M3/M4 Competition xDrive cars the factory adaptive damper strategy will not let you separate spring rate from damping, and the electronic dampers are tied into the car's driving-mode software. The V4 replaces the strut assembly outright with an adjustable-height, adjustable-damping unit and electronic damper deactivation so the factory system is deleted cleanly.

This listing covers the G8X M3 and M4 Competition xDrive cars. 3A7200EQ fits the G80 M3 Competition xDrive sedan and G82 M4 Competition xDrive coupe. 3A7200ER fits the G81 M3 Touring Competition xDrive and G83 M4 Competition Cabrio xDrive. Both include electronic damper deactivation for the factory adaptive dampers.

Additional Parts Required

• Both 3A7200EQ and 3A7200ER include electronic damper deactivation; no separate KW ESC cancellation module purchase is needed for either part number.
• A corner-balance and a full four-wheel alignment are required after installation, and matter even more on an AWD car. Budget for both before the car is driven.
