KW Variant 3 Coilovers – BMW 2 / 3 / 4 Series EDC (F22/F30/F32)

OVERVIEW

KW Variant 3 brings race technology to the road with independently adjustable compression and rebound damping. State-of-the-art motorsport development is applied to a street suspension so the car can be set up to the driver's preference rather than to a single fixed compromise.

KW's patented dual-level valve system separates the two adjustments: rebound damping is set for road comfort and body control, while low-speed compression damping governs the driving dynamics. Ride height is continuously adjustable on the threaded stainless steel strut bodies.

This bundle is the application for rear-wheel-drive BMW 2, 3 and 4 Series models built with Electronic Damper Control (EDC), and includes the EDC cancellation hardware required to deactivate the factory damper control.

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• Four-wheel alignment after installation is mandatory — KW requires the suspension geometry to be reset to the vehicle manufacturer's specification once the final ride height is set.
• Professional installation required — KW states that suspension components must only be fitted by a trained workshop. Impact wrenches must not be used on piston-rod fasteners.
• EDC deactivation is part of this installation. The EDC cancellation hardware is included in this bundle, but the factory damper control must be deactivated correctly or the car will log faults — have this done by a workshop familiar with the system.
• Ride-height sensors must be disconnected and removed before strut removal on cars fitted with adaptive/xenon headlight levelling.
• Driver-assistance systems (radar and camera based) must be re-verified and recalibrated after the car is lowered.
• Check wheel and tyre clearance to the strut body after installation; spacers may be required where clearance is marginal.
• Cars built without EDC take KW order number 3522000F instead — this bundle is the EDC application only.
