Pure Turbos Stage 2 Upgrade Turbo – BMW B46 / B48

OVERVIEW

The Pure Stage 2 is Pure Turbos' OEM-based turbo upgrade for the BMW B46 / B48 2.0L four-cylinder. Pure rebuilds your factory turbocharger with its own billet compressor wheel and a larger high-flow turbine wheel, with an upgraded thrust system, and keeps the factory housing so the turbo installs in the stock location.

This is a core-exchange upgrade. Choose whether to send your factory turbo to Pure first, or pay a refundable core deposit for a B46 or B48 core and return your core after your upgraded turbo arrives.

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• Custom ECU tune: required for engine safety and to make use of the upgrade. Tune options we stock: Bootmod3 B46/B48 Tune, Burger Motorsports JB4 Tuner for B38/B46/B48.
• Turbo gaskets, O-rings, oil and coolant line seals: single-use items that should be replaced during installation. They are not supplied with the turbocharger.
• Supporting fuel system: needed at higher power levels. Confirm your fueling before ordering; we can advise.

Installation

• Pure Turbos does not publish installation instructions or videos for this upgrade; professional installation is recommended.
• Pure Turbos pre-lube and break-in procedure (manufacturer FAQ): pureturbos.com/faq
• Pure Turbos core return sheet (PDF): pure-turbos-core-return-sheet.pdf. Print it, fill it in and include it with your core shipment.
• Before sending a core to Pure, remove all accessories and hardware from it (oil lines, coolant lines, actuators, inlets and similar). Pure discards anything that is not part of the core unit.

Notes

• Send-in option: lead time starts once Pure receives your turbo.
• Core deposit option: the $800 deposit is refunded once your factory turbo is returned to Pure within 60 days of receiving your upgrade. Choose the B46 or B48 deposit to match your engine.
• Pure Turbos does not publish a fitment guide for this product. The applications below follow Pure's B48 (Gen 1) fitment guide; confirm your engine code and model year with us before ordering.
• Pure Turbos includes a limited 1-year / unlimited-mile warranty.
• Legal notice: these parts are for off-road use only and are legal solely for competition racing vehicles as defined under California law. They are not legal for use on public roads.
• Price is for the turbocharger only; labor is not included.
