SPL Bumpsteer Adjustable Tie Rod Ends – Toyota GR Supra A90 / BMW G2x / G42 / G8x

OVERVIEW

SPL Parts front Tie Rod Ends (TRE) let the tie rod end pivot be relocated, correcting bump steer created by modified caster or lower arm geometry and cutting lap times as a result. On cars that have been lowered significantly, relocating the pivot point also keeps the tie rod end from binding, which prevents the inner tie rods from breaking or bending under race conditions.

Custom CNC machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum curved turnbuckles maximize articulation and allow full droop travel, while low friction Teflon lined FK heim joints handle the loads. Stainless steel bump steer spacers in 1/4" and 1/8" thicknesses allow precise adjustment, and their tapered ends provide additional misalignment capability.

Additional Parts Required

• Four-wheel alignment after installation — mandatory. Front toe must be reset once the tie rod ends are fitted.
• Professional installation is recommended; tie rod ends are a safety-critical steering component.
• Corner weighting is recommended for track use.
• Bump steer is measured against front lower control arm and caster geometry, so these are most useful alongside adjustable front arms such as the SPL Front Lower Control Arms Toyota Supra GR A90 / BMW Z4 G29.

• SPL splits this part across two catalog numbers: SPL TRE G29 covers the Supra A90 and Z4 G29, while the BMW G8X, G2X and G42 applications are cataloged as SPL TRE G8X and require the larger 16 mm tie rod fitted to Sport Adaptive Steering (option 2LV) cars.
