OVERVIEW

Active Autowerke's Signature Mid-Pipe with X-Pipe answers the one complaint owners consistently level at the G80 M3 and G82 M4 — for all the praise the cars get for performance, the exhaust note is muffled enough to leave the driver wondering whether they are really in an M car. It forms the heart of Active Autowerke's full G8X system alongside a valved rear axle-back exhaust and GESI catted downpipes, suits most aftermarket exhausts and mufflers, and needs only a single cut in the stock mid-pipe. Two versions are offered: the straight-pipe gives maximum flow and the full sports-car growl, while the catted version's high-flow 100-cell flat cats drop the volume very slightly for a deeper tone.
