OVERVIEW

Active Autowerke's Valved Rear Exhaust for the BMW G80 M3 and G82 M4 addresses the one criticism these cars consistently draw: for all the rave reviews their performance earns, the sound is a muffled one that leaves the driver wondering if they are really driving a BMW M car. It is one part of Active Autowerke's full G80/G82 system, alongside a mid-pipe with X-pipe or single design and a set of GESi catted downpipes. Carefully engineered to increase the sound level over the factory exhaust while allowing optimum flow and resonance by reusing the BMW valve actuators, it gives the car the deep, throaty growl a machine of its caliber should have had from the factory.

Additional Parts Required

• None. Active Autowerke specifies no additional hardware for this part — all necessary installation hardware is included and the factory valve actuators are reused.
• Optional: Active Autowerke G80/G82 Signature Mid-Pipe with X-Pipe (11-087) or Signature Single Mid-Pipe (11-095) — Active Autowerke states the dramatic change in sound only comes with replacing the midpipe.
• Optional: Active Autowerke S58 G80 M3 / G82 M4 GESi Catted Downpipes (11-085) to complete the full system.
• Installer-supplied: standard metric hand tools, a vehicle lift or jack stands, and penetrating oil for the factory exhaust fasteners.

Notes

• PLEASE NOTE — we do offer a version of this rear exhaust for those who only wish to replace their stock rear section (so keeping stock midpipes) but there will be an additional subsequent charge if you later move to an Active or other midpipe, as the connecting pipes will have to be replaced. Also note that the dramatic difference in sound will only come with replacing the midpipe — the rear offers an upgrade but is more subtle.
