OVERVIEW
AMS Performance's air intake system for the BMW G8X S58 platform is built around a massive 3.5" carbon fiber intake tube and oversized cast-aluminum turbo inlet elbows that are up to 128% larger in cross-section than the factory elbows. Dry filter media keeps servicing simple, and a 4-ply silicone hump hose delivers smooth airflow into the twin turbos.
In AMS's own dyno testing on a 2023 M3 Competition xDrive, the intake system produced a maximum gain of +86 whp at 5900 RPM over stock, with an average of +66 whp gained above 5000 RPM. Flowbench testing measured up to a 48% reduction in intake restriction versus the factory intake.
