AMS Performance BMW G8X M2/M3/M4 S58 Air Intakes

OVERVIEW

The AMS Performance air intake system for the BMW G8X S58 platform pairs a 3.5" carbon fiber intake tube with oversized cast-aluminum turbo inlet elbows, up to 128% larger in cross-section than stock, for a direct, low-restriction path to both compressor wheels. 4-ply silicone hump couplers keep the airflow smooth, and dry filter media keeps servicing simple.

On AMS's MAF-based flowbench, the system showed up to a 48% reduction in intake restriction versus OEM. In independent dyno testing on a tuned 2023 M3 Competition xDrive, it produced a peak gain of +86 whp over the stock intakes at 5,900 RPM and an average of +66 whp above 5,000 RPM.

TECH RESOURCES

• Tuning: AMS's published dyno gains were recorded with the car recalibrated for the new intakes. Results vary with tune, fuel and supporting mods.
• Filter care: Clean with compressed air (30–40 psi) from the inside out. For a deep clean, use a mild biodegradable degreaser, rinse, and let dry fully.
• Carbon fiber: Parts are hand-laid; slight imperfections or weave variation are normal.
• Emissions: AMS Performance has not completed CARB/EPA compliance testing for this part. Not legal for emissions-controlled vehicles in California without a completed AMS race waiver.
