AST 5100 Series Coilovers – Toyota Supra A90 (MK5)

OVERVIEW

Looking for the best road balance for everyday use? The AST 5100 Street TCO suspension is built for exactly that. It lets you maximize grip by controlling both rebound damping and ride height, so the car can be dialed in for the road you actually drive. The kit includes springs and is designed to run the factory top mounts. Front and rear both use a true coilover layout, prioritizing adjustability and consistent, predictable handling.

The baseline damping settings and spring rates come out of AST's own development and testing program. From there, individual preference is a matter of turning the rebound knob or changing the ride height. Rebound adjustment controls how quickly the damper returns to extension, and with 12 distinct positions each click gives a different feel and a different driving experience.

AST uses a high-pressure monotube design. The large piston gives the damper the authority to control rebound properly, and because a monotube does not aerate or foam the valving stays responsive. The additional gas pressure adds resistance when driving conditions demand it. The dampers are rebuildable, so if anything is damaged or worn it can be addressed at a certified AST service center rather than replaced.

TECH RESOURCES

Additional Parts Required

• Four-wheel alignment — mandatory. Camber, caster and toe all change when ride height changes. Budget for a full alignment immediately after installation.
• Professional installation. Coilover fitment, preload setting and corner ride-height setup should be carried out by a qualified suspension shop.
• Confirm adaptive damper compatibility before ordering. The A90 Supra is offered with electronically controlled dampers, and this AST kit is a conventional, manually adjusted damper. Confirm your car's suspension configuration with Speed Logic first.
• Set spring preload before the car is lowered. AST ships the springs without preload; the preload ring must be wound up to give adequate spring tension before the car takes its weight.
• Spanner / C-wrenches for the ride-height and preload collars, and a calibrated torque wrench — installer-supplied.
• Optional: corner-weighting and a track setup session once ride height is settled.
